We are a group of students focused on sharing God’s Story in our generation. We are inspired by what is happening in the lives of students here at TU and by what our ministry partners are doing in God’s name. Each week we want to share their stories. We hope you’ll be inspired too. We hope you’ll find something you can connect with, a place you can go, a community you can join, or maybe you’ll just be reminded that God is still working in our generation.

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

This week our stories are focused on members of our community who are inspiring us to have conversations that matter. Take a moment to check out these important and inspiring video stories and then take note of the great opportunity to learn and join the conversation yourself!

Story #2: Our Commitment to Remember

BCM is a cooperative ministry of Oklahoma Baptists. We are united in our commitment to remember the 1921 Race Massacre.

“We remember so we don’t repeat.” - Hance Dilbeck

Listen to this brief conversation between two men, Pastor Anthony Scott of First Baptist North Tulsa and Dr. Hance Dilbeck Exec. Director/Treasurer of Oklahoma Baptists, as they discuss what happened in Tulsa in 1921, what is happening now, and how we must move forward together!

Want to learn more and join the conversation?

Tonight at 7 PM, TU and RUF are hosting a virtual informational event, 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Informational (1 hr Lecture by Dan Hahn, followed by Q&A). We should all know what happened in 1921 right down the road from TU. The more we educate ourselves the more we’ll understand. New understanding leads to meaningful questions and meaningful questions lead to great conversations…and great conversations lead to meaningful transformation!

We realize this isn’t a light or happy topic, but we hope that it lifts your spirit that we care enough to talk about it. We hope you’ll join us by having meaningful conversations with those around you.

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Thanks for taking time to read this today. We hope you have a Happy Monday!
